Feed Lucas County Children, Inc. (FLCC), founded in 2002, is the advocate for the relief and elimination of child hunger in Lucas County.

Your Donation makes a Difference

Feed Lucas County Children, Inc (FLCC) is a private nonprofit charity that offers free meals to children whose family income falls below the poverty level. Hot, nutritious meals as well as enrichment programs are offered five days per week during the summer months, when schools are closed and lunch programs are not available.

Lucas County – 21.3% (24,198 children) live below poverty level

Toledo - #8 worst city for poverty in the U.S.

Your charity is making a difference!
  • 2002 – 7,200 meals were served at 2 sites

  • 2009 – 179,842 meals were served at 90 sites including: 24 schools, 5 community centers, 17 parks, 19 nonprofit organizations, and 25 churches

  • The kitchen has no fryers and a large majority of the food is steamed!
Your contribution will support the increasing effort to spread the word of services available; from nutritious meals to educational programs at each location.

FLCC is purely a grassroots organization, no fancy office and no funding for professional grant writers. However, we do have a great passion to complete our mission. The majority of the people in Lucas County are unaware of our impact in the county due to little funding to inform more families of this program. 90 organizations in this county are depending on you!

Your donation will be spent on 93% program, 4% marketing and 3% administration.

The economy is not the greatest, I agree, but it is even worse for these families.

Thank you for listening and for your generosity!
